The Metroplex Literacy Conference is a yearly gathering of faith and community-based ESL and adult literacy programs throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. It began in 2014 as partnership of LAMP (Literacy and Missions Partnership). It’s purpose was to provide an extension to the TELL training provided to church-based programs through the North American Mission Board. It is held each year at Dallas Baptist University, in Pilgrim Chapel.
This year the MLC is celebrating it’s 20th anniversary! Our theme for 2026 is “Hospitality: Breaking Down Barriers through Literacy” based on Ephesians 2:14 & 19, “For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility. Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household.” This expresses our desire to be the hands of feet of Jesus in welcoming the stranger. The work of our keynote speaker, Amie Sarker, also reflects the desire to build bridges across cultures.
We are excited to welcome you to Metroplex Literacy Conference 2026! You will find workshops for instruction in the areas of ESL, Citizenship, HSE/ESL, and ministry to internationals. We have an exciting lineup of sessions this year taught by experts in their fields. We look forward to seeing you soon.
